PTCF is a highly efficient body, with only two part time staff. The bulk of our work is carried out by our extensive network of volunteers, who give up their valuable time to deliver PTC courses across the globe.
“I have been proud to be the Patron of The Primary Trauma Care (PTC) Foundation since 2008.
During this time many new training and instructor courses have been delivered in developing countries.
I am convinced of the value these have had in helping local doctors to provide appropriate immediate management to the seriously injured, thereby saving many lives”.
Sir Terence English KBE FRCS, Patron
Board of Trustees
The Board of Trustees is the governing body of the PTCF. It is responsible to the UK Charity Commission to ensure that the organisation fulfils its original purpose, is well managed and accountable, and operates with appropriate strategies, policies and ethical values.
The trustees are all volunteers, drawn from the medical field and other relevant disciplines. They meet usually four times per year, in Oxford but also connected by video link with trustees who live in other countries.
The PTCF is a highly efficient body, operating without buildings and with the vast majority of our work being carried out by unpaid volunteers. However, our three paid members of staff play a pivotal role in the strategic and day-to-day running of the charity.
Country Leadership Teams
Country Leadership Teams are responsible for PTC on a regional and country basis.
