Successful Primary Trauma Care (PTC) Training Completed in Suva, Fiji

Thank you and well done to Deepak Sharma and our Fiji team for a great PTC training session in Suva, Fiji.

29 postgraduate nurses were trained. They took part in Primary Trauma Care (PTC) training, strengthening their knowledge, practical skills and confidence in responding to patients with serious injuries.

The training was delivered to postgraduate nurses as part of our ongoing commitment to supporting healthcare professionals in low-resource settings with practical, evidence-based trauma care skills.

Trauma can happen anywhere — from road traffic collisions and falls to workplace injuries and natural disasters. In these situations, the first few minutes of care can make a critical difference. PTC focuses on the essential principles of assessing and managing seriously injured patients, using approaches that are practical and appropriate for the resources available.

For the nurses taking part in Suva, the training provided an opportunity to develop and practise a structured approach to trauma assessment and management.

We are hugely grateful to everyone involved in organising and delivering the training in Suva, and to the postgraduate nurses who gave their time and energy to take part.

Every healthcare professional who develops their trauma care skills has the potential to make a difference when a seriously injured patient arrives at their hospital.
